New Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire trailer makes you throw money at the screen

Pillars of Eternity 2

The excellent Pillars of Eternity is a game you should already own if you call yourself a fan of RPGs, and Obsidian’s sequel is shaping up to be one hell of an experience if this latest trailer is anything to go by. We’ve got more ships, awesome-looking visual effects, gorgeous art and backgrounds, and an impressive score.

POE2 is an upcoming action RPG, currently in development by Obsidian. It too — like the first game — was funded successfully on Kickstarter.  This new trailer wraps up all the new stuff fans of the series will be able to enjoy with a fantastic track to set the scene.

While playing the first installment is obviously going to introduce you to the world, characters and the mechanics of the game, you don’t actually need to do so in order to keep everything rolling. POE2 will allow you to select from various choices that emulate a save game in the first game, much like you can in games like Knights of the Old Republic II.

I’m not normally one who recommends pre-ordering anything since you should be able to hold off for release, but if you simply cannot wait for it to become available, I’d say Pillars of Eternity II will deserve all the cash you can throw at it. POE2 is set to be release on May 8.
